CrewFit was established in 2015 by a husband and wife team who have a passion for fitness and healthy living.

Our Mission

CrewFit was born from a desire to help people achieve their health and fitness goals in a way that is tailored and personalised to each individual’s needs, lifestyle and level of fitness.

 

We offer a wide and varied range of fitness and nutritional services including bootcamps, group classes, personal training (one-to-one, groups or couples), nutrition programs, dietary assessment and transformation plans.

 

Whatever your specific needs and goals may be, we will help you achieve them in an efficient and effective manner.

James Poole, personal trainer

JAMES POOLE

Co-founder & Personal Trainer

James is a highly motivated and professional trainer who has spent the last ten years serving in the Royal Navy. During this time, James availed of the opportunity to learn new skills and increase his overall level of strength and fitness. He specialises in many areas but his specific area of expertise involves bringing his military experiences to the fitness and training world guiding his clients through tough military style workouts encouraging them to reach their optimum level of fitness.

 

James has a tough but friendly approach to training ensuring that he has encompassed the goals and aims of each individual client. He also ensures that he personalises and structures each of his sessions whether that be a full day bootcamp, a group class or a one-to-one personal training session.

DR. CLAIRE CLELAND

Co-founder & Nutritionist

Claire is a qualified nutritionist who has spent the last eight years working in the fields of nutrition and public health. She currently splits her time between CrewFit and her work as a public health researcher.

 

Claire’s work with CrewFit involves working with individual clients and athletes, sports teams and coaches. With her clients Claire ensures that she provides a personalised and comprehensive approach that meets the clients nutrition and hydration needs to lose weight, reduce body fat, maintain weight loss or simply to improve their dietary habits to feel healthier. In terms of her work with athletes Claire works on a regular one-to-one basis in order to ensure that they achieve their optimal level of performance by tailoring their dietary and hydration intake. Additionally, Claire works with teams and coaches to educate them on nutrition and hydration for performance tailored to the specific type and level of sport.

 

As a public health researcher Claire’s work focuses on furthering the field of public health by designing, developing and implementing physical activity and nutrition interventions and assessing their level of impact on the target population.

  • IOC dip Sports Nutrition
  • PhD awarded by Queens University School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences
  • Level 2 Gym Instructor
